I notice Telex has two ANR headsets. Anybody know what the difference
is, aside from the cost?
--
Ralph Finch 916-653-8268:voice 916-653-6077:fax
rfi...@dop.water.ca.gov / finger for PGP public key
"Nada burra la chamaca." A.G.
Any opinions expressed are my own; they do not represent my employer
I use the Telex ANR in my homebuilt Glasair and it cuts out nearly all
the low frequency rumble that used to bother me. Really makes a difference
on a long trip. ATC communications come in much clearer without all that
compeating background noise.

In article <paglia.2.000C3...@inrete.alpcom.it>, pag...@inrete.alpcom.it (Ferruccio Paglia) writes:
>Hi,
>does anyone tried an Active Noise Reduction headset?
>Does it worth the money they cost? (500-1000 US $)?

Let's put it this way: if I had known how well they worked
when I first started flying 10 years ago, I'd have sold my
parents and sister into white slavery to get the cash when Bose
put out their first set.

In all honesty, you'll get the best results if the noise
you are trying to get rid of is in the lower frequencies (100-500 Hz).
Skylanes, for example, generate a lot of low frequency
engine and slipstream noise and the Telex ANR set I use
does an excellent job of dampening this out.

>What about the kit from Headset,Inc in Amarillo? It costs
>about 120$ and promise the same results of the costly ones.
>Waiting for good advise.

Sorry, can't help you on this question.

>Ferruccio
>pag...@inrete.alpcom.it

Michael Richmann
PP-IASEL
Skylane N2406R
