Let’s put it this way:  if I had known how well they worked
when I first started flying 10 years ago, I’d have sold my
parents and sister into white slavery to get the cash when Bose
put out their first set.

In all honesty, you’ll get the best results if the noise
you are trying to get rid of is in the lower frequencies (100-500 Hz).
Skylanes, for example, generate a lot of low frequency
engine and slipstream noise and the Telex ANR set I use
does an excellent job of dampening this out.
