I am informed that La Reforma has a $1,300 landing fee
for a King Air C-90. Does anyone know of a more reasonable
fee for a nearby airport?

Who told you that? Really? Have things changed?
I have (only) a Cessna 172. I have landed in Puerto Plata
(accident!!), La Romana, Santo Domingo (MDLR, Las Americas?)
and Herera. The last one was not so good, it was NOT an airport
of entry, and I had some problems.
That was some time ago. My last trip to DR was in Summer 1992
I don’t recall unusual landing fee, could buy fuel and park the
plane for 3 days. I found a couple rocks to put under the wheels
since there were no tie-down facilities.
I don’t recall the name "La Reforma"). If you mean
La Romana in the eastern part of the island, it is a Port of
Entry, and I had no problems there around 1990 when I spent
a summer in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
But things change. Have a good trip and a pleasant
stay!

That’s in Dominican Currency. In US $’s is very low, don’t have the exchange
rate.
As of last month it was 12 or 13 to the dollar, so it appears the fee
is about $130.00 dollars.

I flew into Puerto Plata about 3 weeks ago in a Piper Saratoga. We didn’t
pay any landing fee at all. Though, there always seems to be a few small
fees here and there for things I’m not too clear on; none costing more than
about $15 US.
The exchange rate was about $13 DR pesoes for $1 US.
I loved it and intend to fly back some day.
