Hello,
I am a 125 hour private pilot (no instrument rating). I am looking at some fairly
large term-life insurance policies and found that to be covered while flying, the
cost for a pilot of my qualifications is almost prohibitive. Does anyone know of
policies that cover you only while flying? I was hoping to just buy a suplemental
policy, if possible. Thank you.

Curiously enough I recently bought a large new whole-life policy from
Safeco Insurance Co. which does NOT exclude my flying activities.
Until I get 100 hours (currently at 48 – about to get my ticket ( I
hope)) there is a sizeable additional fee I have to pay but after that
it disappears and goes back to the regular fee schedule for everyday
ground-pounders.
I do not work for Safeco or anything like that – my point is that if
you look around you might be able to find a good deal. I think
Provident has a similar policy as well.
