I think I remember hearing somewhere that Langley AFB had a five-mile runway
at
one time… and, of course, Groom Lake is supposed to have an eight-mile
runway.
If you count the entire lake bed as an unimproved runway, isn’t Edwards
something
like 35 miles by 15 miles or some such?

A few years back, Eielson AFB, Alaska had the longest runway
listed in any of the Air Force Enroute publications. It was listed as
15-thousand feet and was actually 14,526 feet long. South 5000 feet
was 150 feet wide and remainder of the runway was 300 feet wide.
There’s at least one paved runway at Edwards; the third or fourth shuttle
mission
landed on it, for the first-ever paved runway landing for the shuttle.
